Occupational Therapist

Job Title: Occupational Therapist


Job Overview:

The Occupational Therapist (OT) will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement individualized therapy programs for children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and other special needs. The OT will focus on improving each child’s fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, self-care abilities, and overall functional independence within home, school, and therapy environments.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of children’s fine motor, sensory, and functional skills using standardized assessment tools.

2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and in collaboration with the clinical and ABA teams.

3. Provide direct therapy sessions focusing on sensory integration, motor planning, handwriting, self-help, and daily living skills.

4. Collaborate with Behavior Therapists, Speech Therapists, and other professionals to align therapy goals and ensure a coordinated care approach.

5. Educate parents and caregivers on strategies and home programs to support continued progress outside therapy sessions.

6. Monitor, document, and update progress notes and treatment outcomes in accordance with Center A’s clinical standards.

7. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and parent conferences.

8.Train and provide input to ABA staff on integrating occupational therapy strategies into daily programs when appropriate.

9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in pediatric occupational therapy and evidence-based interventions.

10. Ensure compliance with ethical and professional standards, confidentiality, and safety protocols.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Occupational Therapy license (or eligibility for licensing in Kuwait preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with children with special needs, preferably in an ABA or pediatric setting.
  • Strong understanding of sensory integration and child development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English (Arabic is an advantage).

Note: Preference will be given to applicants currently residing in Kuwait.
