The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing occupational therapy evaluation and treatment of patients, including the development of plan of care, and ongoing treatment with patients through all phases of occupational therapy for a wide range of populations. Position requires ensuring every patient receives a unique experience through a comprehensive, thorough, and customized occupational therapy regimen with an emphasis on quality care provided in a friendly and encouraging environment. Applicants are required to have experience in one or more of the following areas: pediatrics, mental health, geriatrics. Position also may require the clinical instruction of doctoral OT students and mentoring of undergraduate students participating in observation, volunteer work or paid clinical work as rehabilitation aides in the clinic. While the position is as a Marquette University employee, the OT will be assigned to work at the Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center – a federally funded community health center that serves an underserved, minority population. As such, the position requires frequent interaction and collaboration with the medical team and staff at the Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide evaluation and treatment of incoming patients to determine appropriate occupational treatment programs, including assessment, treatment planning, goal writing, collaboration and education with caregivers, implementation of evidence-based and strengths-based intervention, and appropriate recommendations.

2. Assist in marketing of Ignace OT services including communication with referral sources to expand existing business and cultivate new business. Maintain current knowledge of occupational therapist roles and continuing trends in the industry.

3. Maintain current knowledge of occupational therapist roles and continuing trends in the industry. Maintain and continue to develop clinical skills and use of technology through continuing education.

4. Engage in staff activities, meetings and training sessions at GLIIHC. Provide in-services to
GLIIHC staff as requested.

5. Communicate clearly with referring physicians, team members, and other health care personnel regarding occupational therapy and equipment.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A degree from an accredited occupational therapy program. Appropriate state licensure or willingness to obtain

Microsoft Office capability, ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
Strong customer service skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent presentation skills; strong team player.
