ERP Functional Lead – Odoo

Role Summary
The ERP Functional Lead – Odoo is responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting the organization’s Odoo ERP platform. This role leads the functional design, implementation, and continuous improvement of ERP processes across departments.
The position acts as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and the technical development team, ensuring business requirements are translated into effective system solutions.
Beyond initial implementation, this role assumes long-term ownership of the ERP platform, ensuring system stability, user adoption, and continuous enhancement aligned with organizational growth and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
ERP Implementation & Optimization

Lead functional analysis and system design during ERP implementation projects.

Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications for the technical team.

Design and optimize business processes using Odoo ERP capabilities and best practices.

Identify automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
Business Process Management

Collaborate closely with departments including Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Sales, and Operations.

Analyze existing workflows and redesign them using ERP best practices.

Ensure strong alignment between business operations and ERP system functionality.
System Ownership & Continuous Improvement

Own the functional performance and governance of the ERP system after go-live.

Continuously evaluate and improve ERP processes and user adoption.

Identify opportunities to introduce new modules, features, or automation.

Ensure the ERP platform evolves with the company’s growth and operational needs.
Team Coordination

Coordinate with internal development teams and external vendors when required.

Provide clear functional explanations and business logic to developers.

Prioritize system enhancements and improvement initiatives.
System Configuration & Functional Management

Configure and manage key Odoo modules including:

Accounting

Sales
-
Purchase
-
Inventory
-
HR

Monitor system performance and configuration integrity.

Review system changes and enhancements before deployment.
Testing & Quality Assurance

Define test scenarios and acceptance criteria for system updates and new features.

Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes.

Ensure system stability before releasing updates into production.
User Support & Training

Provide functional support to ERP users across departments.

Conduct training sessions to improve system adoption and user proficiency.

Develop and maintain functional documentation and user guides.
Governance & ERP Strategy

Establish ERP best practices and governance standards across departments.

Ensure consistent system usage across companies, branches, and business units.

Support leadership with ERP-driven insights and process improvement initiatives.
Required Skills

Strong understanding of ERP business processes (Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, HR).

Deep knowledge of Odoo ERP functional modules.

Experience in business process mapping and system design.

Ability to translate business requirements into system solutions.

Strong communication, stakeholder management, and coordination skills.
Required Experience

5+ years experience working with ERP systems.

Proven experience with Odoo ERP functional implementation.

Experience managing ERP implementation and post-go-live support.
