The WV Board of Social Work has an immediate opening for a part time hourly Office Assistant. This position pays $13–$16 per hour, depending on qualifications, and is expected to work 24–32 hours per week, with occasional variations based on staffing needs. This is a 12-month temporary position without benefits, located at the Board’s office in Charleston.

The Office Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support to Board operations and requires organization, accountability, and independent task management. Assistant is expected to understand licensing policies and procedures and effectively communicate them to the public.

Duties include:

· Greet visitors and respond to phone and email inquiries

· Review applications, issue licenses, and prepare outgoing mail

· Perform general clerical responsibilities and support to the Board

· Sort, log, and distribute incoming mail

· Data entry, basic typing and filing

· Monitoring inventory of office supplies

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience in an office setting; should have good oral and written communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and work independently
