Ide Family Dental is an expanding dental practice looking for a dedicated Dental Office Assistant to join our team. Think of this as the jack of all trades position. You will get experience in both reception duties and dental assisting duties and will float positions based on daily needs.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Duties

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by providing chairside support.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques.
  • Take dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix for patient management and scheduling.
  • Perform vital signs checks and assist in the assessment of patients' medical history.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
  • Support the front desk with dental receptionist duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
  • Operate 3D scanners for imaging purposes when required.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control standards within the clinic.
  • Be flexible in daily duties- we work as a team!

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred; however, a strong candidate who is willing to learn will be considered.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology is essential and this can be taught to the right candidate.
  • Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of four-handed dentistry techniques is beneficial.
  • Ability to perform basic medical imaging tasks and maintain accurate medical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of infection control protocols within a dental environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
