Schedule:
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with a 1-hour unpaid lunch)
- This position is classified as part-time, with hours typically ranging between 35-40 hours per week
- Additional hours, including weekends and overtime, may be available based on business needs
Job Summary
Expert Traffic Control is seeking an Office Assistant / HR Assistant to support our Tualatin office. This role will assist with both administrative and HR-related tasks, including employee communication, onboarding support, reporting, and day-to-day office operations.
This is a fast-paced position that works closely with the HR Manager and Administrative team and is a great opportunity for someone interested in growing within HR.
Responsibilities
HR Support
- Assist with HR calls and employee follow-ups
- Maintain employee records in Paylocity
- Support HR documentation, including disciplinary actions, coaching notes, and employee file updates
- Track and document employee attendance, call-outs, and related follow-ups
- Assist with investigations by gathering statements and organizing documentation
- Assist with completing and tracking HR forms, policy acknowledgments, and required compliance documentation
- Handle sensitive and confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion
- Provide support to employees and help address general HR-related questions
Recruiting Support
- Assist with recruiting efforts as needed, including scheduling interviews, candidate communication, and sending onboarding paperwork
- Send background checks and support pre-employment processes
Office & Administrative Support
- Support day-to-day office operations and general administrative tasks
- Assist with scheduling and dispatching as needed
- Maintain office organization and cleanliness, including light housekeeping
- Assist with ordering, tracking, and maintaining office supplies
Qualifications
- 1+ year of administrative or HR support experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable handling phone calls and employee communication
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and general computer systems
- Experience with HR systems (Paylocity or similar) preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the day
- Ability to use a computer, phone, and other office equipment for prolonged periods
- Ability to occasionally lift and move office supplies (up to 25 lbs)
- Ability to perform general office tasks, including light housekeeping and organization
Work Environment
This is an in-office position based in Tualatin, OR, supporting a fast-paced operations team.
