Office Assistant / HR Assistant - Expert Traffic Control (Evening Shift – In Office)

Job Summary

Expert Traffic Control is seeking an organized and dependable Office Assistant / HR Assistant to support our Tualatin office during evening hours. This role will assist with both administrative and HR-related tasks, including employee communication, onboarding support, reporting, and day-to-day office operations.

This is a fast-paced position that works closely with the HR Manager and Administrative team and is a great opportunity for someone interested in growing within Human Resources.

Responsibilities

HR Support

  • Assist with HR calls and employee follow-ups
  • Maintain and update employee records in Paylocity
  • Support HR documentation, including disciplinary actions, coaching notes, and employee file updates
  • Track and document employee attendance, call-outs, and related follow-ups
  • Assist with investigations by gathering statements and organizing documentation
  • Help complete and track HR forms, policy acknowledgments, and compliance documentation
  • Handle sensitive and confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion
  • Provide general support to employees and assist with HR-related questions

Recruiting Support

  • Assist with scheduling interviews and candidate communication
  • Send onboarding paperwork and support pre-employment processes
  • Coordinate background checks and onboarding steps

Office & Administrative Support

  • Support day-to-day office operations and administrative tasks
  • Maintain office organization and cleanliness (light housekeeping)
  • Assist with ordering, tracking, and maintaining office supplies

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of administrative or HR support experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable handling phone calls and employee communication
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and general computer systems
  • Experience with HR systems (Paylocity or similar) preferred
  • Professional, reliable, and able to handle sensitive information with discretion

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day
  • Ability to use a computer, phone, and office equipment for extended periods
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move office supplies (up to 25 lbs)
  • Ability to perform general office tasks, including light housekeeping and organization

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday
  • 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM
  • In-office position
  • Part-time role (hours may vary slightly based on business needs)
  • Additional hours, including weekends or extended shifts, may be available

Work Environment

This is an in-office role based in Tualatin, OR, supporting a fast-paced HR and administrative team.
