We are looking for a Office Civil Technical Engineer who will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating technical drawings and documents for civil and landscape projects. The role is office-based and focuses on supporting site teams with design, documentation, and technical clarifications to ensure smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and update drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Calculate and verify quantities of materials from drawings.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and material take-offs.
  • Assist in cost estimation and budget preparation.
  • Coordinate between design consultants, contractors, and site teams.
  • Review and interpret design drawings before execution.
  • Communicate technical clarifications and respond to site queries (RFI – Request for Information).
  • Ensure timely submission and approval of shop drawings and materials.
  • Check that construction activities meet design intent and specifications.
  • Support quality control teams by providing drawings and reference standards.
  • Ensure that materials used comply with project specifications and standards.
  • Prepare work schedules and monitor progress.
  • Support planning engineers with progress updates, reports, and material tracking.
  • Assist in preparing monthly progress reports and client submittals.
  • Prepare material requisitions based on drawings and schedules.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team for material approvals and delivery tracking.
  • Provide technical support to the site team to resolve drawing or design issues.
  • Attend site meetings for technical coordination.
  • Conduct site visits to verify work against drawings.
  • Verify that drawings comply with design and construction standards.
  • Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and bar bending schedules (BBS).
  • Maintain technical records and ensure document control procedures are followed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Technical or Office Engineer in a construction or engineering firm.
  • Proven experience in preparing shop drawings, technical submittals, and coordinating with consultants.
  • Strong knowledge of construction standards, specifications, and codes of practice.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of Primavera or MS Project is an advantage.
  • Valid UAE Driving License.
