We are looking for a Office Civil Technical Engineer who will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating technical drawings and documents for civil and landscape projects. The role is office-based and focuses on supporting site teams with design, documentation, and technical clarifications to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and update drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Calculate and verify quantities of materials from drawings.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and material take-offs.
- Assist in cost estimation and budget preparation.
- Coordinate between design consultants, contractors, and site teams.
- Review and interpret design drawings before execution.
- Communicate technical clarifications and respond to site queries (RFI – Request for Information).
- Ensure timely submission and approval of shop drawings and materials.
- Check that construction activities meet design intent and specifications.
- Support quality control teams by providing drawings and reference standards.
- Ensure that materials used comply with project specifications and standards.
- Prepare work schedules and monitor progress.
- Support planning engineers with progress updates, reports, and material tracking.
- Assist in preparing monthly progress reports and client submittals.
- Prepare material requisitions based on drawings and schedules.
- Coordinate with the procurement team for material approvals and delivery tracking.
- Provide technical support to the site team to resolve drawing or design issues.
- Attend site meetings for technical coordination.
- Conduct site visits to verify work against drawings.
- Verify that drawings comply with design and construction standards.
- Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and bar bending schedules (BBS).
- Maintain technical records and ensure document control procedures are followed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Technical or Office Engineer in a construction or engineering firm.
- Proven experience in preparing shop drawings, technical submittals, and coordinating with consultants.
- Strong knowledge of construction standards, specifications, and codes of practice.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of Primavera or MS Project is an advantage.
- Valid UAE Driving License.
