The Office Engineer (MEP) will assist in planning, coordinating, and managing MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) project documentation, drawings, procurement, and technical support activities. The role supports site engineers and project managers to ensure smooth project execution according to specifications, standards, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Documentation & Coordination
- Prepare, review, and update MEP drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers for approvals and clarifications.
- Prepare method statements, material submittals, and technical documentation.
- Ensure documentation is organized and maintained according to company and project standards.
2. Project Support & Planning
- Assist project managers in planning daily activities and tracking work progress.
- Coordinate with site teams for technical issues and ensure required information is delivered on time.
- Attend technical and coordination meetings; document and communicate minutes of meetings.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
3. Procurement & Material Management
- Prepare material requisitions and follow up with suppliers for timely delivery.
- Compare quotations and assist in technical evaluation of suppliers.
- Track material inventory and update logs.
4. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure MEP work complies with project specifications, authority regulations (DEWA, ADDC, Civil Defense, etc.), and international standards.
- Support QA/QC team with inspections and documentation.
- Verify site changes and update documents, drawings, and BOQs accordingly.
5. Cost & Quantity Management
- Assist in quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, and cost estimates.
- Monitor variations and prepare reports for change orders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in UAE as an Office Engineer / MEP Coordinator / MEP Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of UAE MEP regulations and authority approval processes.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MEP drafting.
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of project management tools
