Masters In Dietetics, LLC is hiring for the position of Community Health Worker.
This Candidate will assist the dietitian with patient relations and collaborating with community providers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To support the goals of Masters In Dietetics, LLC (MIDLLC), the profession of dietetics, and oneself in a manner as outlined in the code of ethics of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, in the office, on social media, in the community, and with interactions with patients
- To implement HIPAA guidelines and understand medical terminology
- To send information to patients via EHR, email, facsimile, and mail
- To develop and support MIDLLC Community Outreach Activities
- To help conduct community Focused Research Assessments
- To gather data for the dietitian for Nutrition Focused Physical Examinations.
- To communicate and market the MIDLLC message within the company, local, and national policies and standards.
- To connect patients to health care services or resources as recommended by the dietitian.
Successful Candidates will have the following characteristics:
- Impeccable Origination Skills- Can manage our unique filing system to ensure patient anonymity in our EHR system. Can coordinate emails, phone calls, faxes, and referrals for punctual patient care.
- Medical Terminology- strong communication skills to appropriately relay the MIDLLC message to patients, community partners, and medical providers.
- Medical Nutrition Therapy Support - Familiarity with nutrition assessment tools such as the hand dynamometer assessment, anthropometric screenings, and EHR systems is a plus.
- Time Management Skills- Can balance the office staff availability with new and existing patients' schedule to effectively support each individual's nutrition program and measurable outcomes as outlined by the dietitian.
- Certifications- Having a DT-R, CMA, or CCHW certification is a plus.
- Experience with Billing: Experience with insurance verifications, authorizations, and appeals is needed. Additional training on billing for our dietetics practice will be given during onboarding.
- Bilingual (Preferred): Spanish
Pay: $15.00 per hour
