Office Support Person VII - Court Administration

SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receives and processes requests for interpreters for all court hearings and proceedings including Common Pleas Court hearings, custody conferences, divorce master proceedings, Protective from Abuse Hearings, juvenile court proceedings and Children & Youth hearings.
• Corresponds effectively with Judges, their staff and attorneys to ensure an up-to-date status of any proceeding involving an interpreter so that the interpreter can be informed if a date, time or location is changed or if there is a change in case status.
• Communicates with the AOPC when there are not any approved interpreters available for a particular language requested to ascertain what other options exist.
• Maintains Language Access Data Collection ensuring the entry of encounters are correct and completed in a timely manner.
• Processes Interpreter invoices in a timely manner and in accordance with Interpreter Regulations and Fee Schedule.
• Arranges for the translation of Court documents when needed.
• Payroll (ADP): assists with the processing of payroll in a timely manner and in accordance with County policies and procedures.
• Building Services: submits work orders when building maintenance issues are reported to the Court Services department. Follows up to ensure work is complete and according to needs.
• Transcript requests: assists with the processing of transcript requests including the receipting of payment and notification to the court reporter.
• Orders for Payment: processes Orders for Payment for attorneys and expert witnesses utilizing the appropriate vendor number and budget code.
• Special projects: as assigned by the Deputy Court Administrator – Fiscal/Court Services works on special projects.
• Answers phones, directing inquiries to the appropriate party; opens incoming mail, directing it to the appropriate person; files departmental paperwork.

• Any other duties as may be assigned by the District Court Administrator.
• Non-remote work required.
