Officer, AUC Press Warehouse - Office of Procurement Services

Reports to: Director, Material Management


Purpose:

The job holder will lead the comprehensive management of the AUC Press warehouse operations, overseeing the team and managing a high-volume inventory of up to 750,000 books to ensure efficient order fulfillment and global distribution.


Responsibilities:

Inventory Management and Warehouse Optimization:

  • Direct the systematic organization of the warehouse layout and stock placement according to ISBN standards to facilitate rapid retrieval
  • Handle processes, maintaining optimal levels of operational supplies such as packing materials and stationery, and prevent bottlenecks in the daily workflow

Order Fulfillment and Global Logistics:

  • Manage the end-to-end order cycle for approximately 2,500 outgoing and 200 incoming annual shipments
  • Ensure the accurate preparation and packing of all local and international orders for clients, book fairs, and distribution agencies to meet strict delivery deadlines and university quality standards

Safety, Security and Asset Protection:

  • Execute rigorous safety and security controls across the warehouse facility to protect both the team and a stock portfolio valued at up to LE 40,000,000
  • Implement best practices for physical asset protection and minimize inventory shrinkage or damage during storage and transit

Stakeholder Coordination and Vendor Supervision:

  • Act as the primary liaison between AUC Press customer services, production directors, and university logistics departments

ERP Administration and Operational Data Entry:

  • Manage the end-to-end data entry process within the ERP system, maintaining real-time updates on stock levels and daily operations

General Duties:

  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Qualifications and Skills:

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with an advanced degree or certification in logistics support is highly preferred
  • Minimum of five to seven years of supervisory or managerial experience in logistics or warehousing


Technical Skills:

  • Technical and Behavioral: Exhibits excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with a very good command of written and verbal Arabic and English
  • The role demands high proficiency in Microsoft Office, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex priorities under pressure in a dynamic distribution environment
