MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Officers responsible for analyzing and managing risk issues by defining, evaluating, measuring, monitoring and managing the risks bank exposed to by considering laws, regulations and approved risk policies and strategic plans approved by the Board of Directors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and application of the risk management system,
  • Identify risk management policies and application procedures on the basis of risk management strategies,
  • Ensure application and compliance with risk management policies and implementation procedures,
  • Ensure understanding the risks before taking an action and conducting sufficient assessments,
  • Designing, choosing, implementing risk measurement models and contribute for preliminary approval process, review the models regularly and make the necessary changes,
  • Produce and analyse periodic reports from risk measurement models used by the bank,
  • Ensure keeping quantifiable risks within the defined limits and monitoring the use of these limits,
  • Aggregate the limits identified on the basis of unit for each risk, and monitor compliance with the defined limits at the entire bank,
  • Ensure regular and timely monitoring of risk measurement and risk monitoring results to the board of directors or related responsible person for internal systems and to the senior management.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years banking experience especially in risk management area.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Functional / Technical Competencies:

Essential: Basic knowledge of all main risk types is required. i.e. Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Business Continuity and Liquidity Risk. Besides overall banking, advanced excel knowledge and fluency in English are an asset.

Education / Qualifications:

Essential: Vice President must have minimum undergraduate level degree in banking, economics, econometrics and business administration, mathematics engineering, statistics and equivalent fields, and those with an undergraduate degree in engineering must have a graduate degree in the mentioned fields.

As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and emended in consultation with the role holder. The role holder will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager or Department Head.
