Reports to:
Senior Director, Office of Student Life.
Purpose:
The job holder supports the overall operation and governance of the Student Union (SU) and related student-elected bodies. The role provides guidance, training, and administrative oversight to ensure that student government activities, events, and elections align with AUC policies and the Student Constitution.
Responsibilities:

Student Support and Leadership Development:
Co-advise Student Union committees to ensure successful implementation of plans and compliance with AUC policies and procedures. Serve as a mentor and advisor to student leaders, fostering teamwork and professionalism within the SU and affiliated organizations

Event and Logistics Management:
Monitor event logistics in liaison with events management and food services ensuring logistical efficiency for all SU events, trips, and large-scale student activities

Financial Oversight:
Monitor SU budget and transactions, ensure alignment with financial guidelines, and coordinate with the Office of Student Life (OSL) financial team

Training and Development:
Plan and coordinate training programs for student leaders, covering topics such as Title IX compliance, budgeting, well-being, campus policy awareness and team-building

Policy and Compliance Coordination:
Ensure adherence to AUC’s Student Constitution, travel policies, and safety regulations for all SU activities

Market and Sponsorship Management:
Supervise Student Union Market operations, develop manuals and guidelines, and monitor sponsorships and vendor relations to ensure compliance and efficiency

Program Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain updated documentation, financial tracking, and reports on events, sponsorships, and training outcomes

Requirements:
Minimum Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required
Experience:
-
Minimum of 7 years of experience, including at least 5 years in student affairs or an academic setting
Skills:

Student Affairs Expertise:
Knowledge of student governance, leadership development, and university event policies

Event and Budget Management:
Experience coordinating large-scale student events and monitoring budgets or sponsorships

Interpersonal and Communication Skills:
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities across diverse student populations

Analytical and Problem-Solving:
Capacity to interpret policies, analyze issues, and provide practical solutions

Administrative Coordination:
Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Technology and Systems Proficiency:
Competent in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with AUC Connect or similar student engagement platforms

Teamwork and Professional Conduct:
Strong collaborative approach, confidentiality, and initiative in supporting students and colleagues
