Job Summary
Acts as lead for the School Security Officer division and assists the Director and Field Manager of Security. Ensures concern for the welfare of students, staff, and MNPS visitors is maintained while performing officer duties.
What you will do
- Serves as a liaison to principals, cluster support, and campus support for School Security.
- Reviews daily activity and investigative reports of security officers.
- Schedules security officers to meet work demands.
- Leads security officers and insures District policies and regulations are understood and followed.
- Inspects security vehicles and District-issued security equipment.
- Schedules school searches including K-9 searches by request and as scheduled.
- Assists with quarterly evaluations of security officers’ performance. Determines whether additional training is needed and/or coaching in best practices.
Issues uniforms and equipment to security officers.
Education Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Required
Experience Qualifications
1-3 years Experience within MNPS Security or related field Required
Licenses and Certifications
- Requires valid TN driver’s license or CDL Required
Current Tennessee Armed Security Guard Certification is required and must be maintained Required
Equivalency
Starting At: $26.25
Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline. .
