Job Purpose:

To provide input and support for the safe conduct of work by personnel associated with the development, operation and maintenance of the Company’s LNG plant and associated onshore process.

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification, of minimum one year duration, in Occupational Safety and Health or NEBOSH/NVQ Diploma.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in occupational safety and health, which shall include a minimum of 3 years experience in an Oil & Gas sector. 2-year experience in Shutdowns and Turnarounds preferred.
  • Good understanding regarding the working and correct usage of different types of safety equipment (fall arrestors/PPEs etc.).
  • Good understanding of risk assessment methodologies, reactive and proactive monitoring techniques and incident investigation techniques.
  • Sound knowledge in emergency response and management.
  • Good understanding of hazards and controls of work at height, confined space, rigging lifting, scaffolding and hot/open flame work.
  • Good knowledge on types of gas monitors, gas test requirements and characteristics of toxic and flammable gases, preferably AGT level 1
  • Good knowledge and understanding on occupational health hazards controls/monitoring.
  • Good communication (oral and writing) skills in English
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as team member.
  • Good adaptability to multinational environment, with wide exposure to various cultures.
  • Provide the support in maintaining the IIF safety culture.
  • Provides H&S information, support and mentorship to Operations personnel and other internal clients to ensure the conduct of safe and hygienic work practices.
  • Provide SME support for hazard identification, Job Safety Analysis and formal risk assessments.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of safe operating and emergency procedures, manuals, bulletins and other H&S publications.
  • Takes an active role in the development and implementation of the permit to work system and provides independent oversight by reviewing selected permits issued by Operations personnel.
  • Delivery of toolbox talks
  • Conducts regular PTW Audits and Safety inspections of plant and equipment.
  • Participates in incident control during accidents or emergencies.
  • Participates in incident investigations.
  • Ensures that H&S equipment and facilities are kept in best working.
  • Assists with industrial hygiene surveys to identify and quantify occupational workplace stresses.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments, safe working practices, government regulations and relevant international codes of practice.
  • Developing proactive and reactive monitoring report.
