Oil and Gas Title Attorney

Job Description

Dupuis Law Firm, PLLC is seeking an oil and gas title attorney to work either remotely or in the office in Spring, TX. The position is for either a full time employee or an independent contractor.

Most of the firm's work involves title examination, due diligence, title curative, and other related matters for operators in Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Colorado. The firm also represents a few non-operators and mineral buyers.

Responsibilities

• Review real estate title documents and oil and gas related contracts, and identify and analyze issues in chain of title
• Calculate ownership of surface, mineral, royalty, overriding royalty, and working interest, and draft title opinions
• Draft title documents and other oil and gas related contracts

Requirements

• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to write clearly and succinctly
• Currently licensed attorney in good standing in TX, NM, or LA
• OK or CO licensure a plus but not required
• Some experience drafting oil and gas title opinions preferred, but not required
