Job Description:
Network Analysis & Planning
- Perform detailed analysis of MV feeders and substations using electrical modeling tools.
- Identify optimal locations for the electrical elements based on:
- Load segmentation
- Fault isolation zones
- Switching logic
- Restoration strategies
- Conduct load flow, short-circuit, and contingency studies to support placement decisions.
Data Collection & Validation
- Gather and validate network data.
- Coordinate with field teams and system engineers to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
Signal & Communication Mapping
- Define signal requirements (status, measurements, alarms) for each proposed element location.
- Coordinate with system and telecom teams to ensure communication feasibility and integration with Automation system.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare detailed OLS reports including technical justifications, maps, and device specifications.
- Present findings to internal stakeholders and client representatives.
- Maintain documentation of all assumptions, calculations, and recommendations.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with protection, automation, planning, and commissioning teams to align OLS outputs with project execution.
- Support the development of implementation plans and signal commissioning schedules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or Power Systems Engineering.
- 4–6 years of experience in distribution network planning, protection studies, or smart grid projects.
- Strong understanding of MV distribution systems (11kV/33kV), feeder topology, and automation principles.
- Experience with network analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, CYME, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
- Familiarity with communication protocols (IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3) and system architecture.
- Fluent in English and Urdu; strong technical writing and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with utility clients.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
