On-Site Diesel Mechanic

<Job Summary>
Join our dynamic team as an On-Site Diesel Mechanic, where you will be the vital force behind maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. <Responsibilities>

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, and air brake systems using schematics and technical manuals.
  • Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake services and shock & strut replacements to maximize equipment lifespan.
  • Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform repairs on automotive diagnostics systems to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
  • Assist with assembly, disassembly, and equipment repair tasks while adhering to safety standards.
  • Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and inspections completed for accountability and future reference.

<Qualifications>

  • Proven experience working as a mechanic in dealership settings or heavy equipment environments with a strong background in diesel engine repair.
  • Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, HVAC systems, suspension components, shocks & struts, brakes & air brake systems.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools effectively.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various outdoor conditions.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Pay: $70,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
