Job Description: Internal Medicine Oncologist

Position Summary - Oncologist serving our nations hero's

Scope of Services

Provide oncology consultations and treatment for VA beneficiaries at designated VA facilities.
Evaluate, triage, and prioritize referrals from primary care and other specialties.
Conduct thorough medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
Order and interpret laboratory tests and imaging studies.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Collaborate with Primary Care Providers and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
Participate in peer reviews and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE).
Deliver on-call oncology services as scheduled.

Contract Details

Period of Performance: 6 months with option to extend

Locations of Service

Primary Site: Buffalo
Additional Float Sites:
- Batavia - (36.4 miles from Buffalo)
- Olean – (75.5 miles from Buffalo)

Travel Requirement: Clinics at Batavia and Olean will occur at least once per quarter and up to once per week, based on patient volume.

Qualifications

Licensure: Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia.
- Physicians with any history of license suspension, revocation, or voluntary surrender are ineligible.
Board Certification: Must be certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine – Medical Oncology.
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent
Continuing Education: All certifications and education requirements must be maintained and documented annually.
