Job Description: Internal Medicine Oncologist
Position Summary - Oncologist serving our nations hero's
Scope of Services
  • Provide oncology consultations and treatment for VA beneficiaries at designated VA facilities.
  • Evaluate, triage, and prioritize referrals from primary care and other specialties.
  • Conduct thorough medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and imaging studies.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with Primary Care Providers and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Participate in peer reviews and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE).
  • Deliver on-call oncology services as scheduled.
Contract Details
  • Period of Performance: 6 months with option to extend
Locations of Service
  • Primary Site: Buffalo
  • Additional Float Sites:
    • Batavia - (36.4 miles from Buffalo)
    • Olean – (75.5 miles from Buffalo)
Travel Requirement: Clinics at Batavia and Olean will occur at least once per quarter and up to once per week, based on patient volume.
Qualifications
  • Licensure: Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia.
    • Physicians with any history of license suspension, revocation, or voluntary surrender are ineligible.
  • Board Certification: Must be certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine – Medical Oncology.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent
  • Continuing Education: All certifications and education requirements must be maintained and documented annually.

Salary

$250,000 - $400,000 per year
