The Oncology Authorization Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the oncology prior authorization and financial clearance functions. This role ensures timely and accurate authorization of oncology services, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation oncology, diagnostic testing, imaging, specialty medications, and related treatments. The supervisor leads a team of authorization specialists, promotes regulatory compliance, supports revenue cycle integrity, and collaborates closely with clinical, financial, and operational stakeholders to ensure seamless patient access to care.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing or related field preferred.
Certifications: Certified Coding Specialist required.
Experience:
5 to 10 years as a Healthcare Medical Coder required.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare authorization, revenue cycle, patient access or related field required
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience, strongly preferred
Oncology authorization, infusion services, specialty pharmacy or oncology revenue cycle experience preferred.
