Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) field-based physicians and scientists with in-depth knowledge of the Oncology therapeutic area and related GSK medicines who will be responsible for identifying and developing a deep relationship with medical experts and community physicians in their responsible region, insight gathering, pipeline review with HCPs, identifying Investigators and sites for clinical trial participation, recruitment for clinical trials.

The role of the MSL is to provide a field-based medical service that puts the patient’s needs at the centre of everything, building trust with healthcare professionals & using a two-way scientific dialogue to understand HCP needs and provide appropriate solutions in line with the GSK-defined HCP engagement model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage the external community appropriately in robust scientific dialogue that generates insight and advances scientific and medical understanding, as well as secure advice to inform the development of products of value for the benefit of patients/ consumers.
  • Identify, consolidate and communicate key insights and subsequently contribute to the translation of these insights into executable and innovative Medical Affairs strategies and plans that clearly define the value of our medicines/products to our customers.
  • Establish and maintain a compliant, supportive partnership with the sales team and other counterparts within the commercial organisation.
  • Support clinical research programming across the continuum (investigator-sponsored research, Cooperative Group and Collaborator research, company-sponsored trials).
  • Provide the business with regular updates on insights/opportunities.
  • Adapt individual HCP plans based on interactions.
  • Alignment of plans with other functions.
  • Follow external-facing activity measures, including HCP feedback on interactions.
  • Reports of spontaneous and clinical trial adverse events related to GSK products.

Basic Qualifications

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Have a university degree in medicine and pharmacy
  • Demonstrable experience and success as an MSL
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications
  • Understanding of Pharmaceutical ethics and governance and a clear understanding of pharmaceutical compliance policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Planning and organization
  • Time management
  • Priority setting
