Online History Teacher

Job Summary

Duties

• Design and implement engaging online history curricula aligned with educational standards and best practices in instructional design
• Develop detailed lesson plans that incorporate multimedia tools, interactive activities, and assessments to enhance student understanding
• Facilitate live virtual classes, encouraging active participation and fostering a positive classroom atmosphere
• Provide personalized feedback on student assignments, essays, research projects, and standardized tests to support continuous improvement
• Utilize learning technology platforms to monitor student progress, manage coursework, and communicate effectively with students and parents
• Mentor students in developing research skills, critical analysis, creative writing, and historical inquiry techniques
• Collaborate with educational teams to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learning needs, including special education and literacy education requirements

Experience

• Proven experience in higher education teaching or classroom management within a virtual or traditional setting
• Strong background in curriculum development across history topics, with familiarity in AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, and copy editing techniques
• Demonstrated expertise in instructional design, lesson planning, and the use of learning technology tools for online education
• Experience working with students of varying ages and backgrounds, including private school environments or Montessori settings preferred
• Knowledge of research methodologies, library services integration, standardized testing preparation, and academic advising practices
• Excellent communication skills combined with organizational skills to manage multiple classes effectively
• Prior experience in mentoring or tutoring students in history or related subjects such as linguistics, journalism, or literacy education
