Role Overview
The Online Jewelry Category Manager will own the entire online jewelry category lifecycle — from product buying and pricing to inventory management, online sales growth, and digital marketing execution. This role requires strong commercial thinking, data analysis, and coordination with marketing, operations, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities1. Buying & Product Planning
- Plan and source jewelry collections (gold, silver, diamond, fashion jewelry) based on trends and demand
- Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams for product selection
- Decide product mix, SKUs, pricing, margins, and launch timelines
- Monitor competitor pricing and market trends
2. Inventory Management
- Forecast demand and plan inventory levels to avoid overstock or stockouts
- Track slow-moving, fast-moving, and seasonal items
- Coordinate with warehouse and operations for stock availability
- Maintain accurate inventory across website, marketplaces, and ERP
3. Online Sales & Merchandising
- Own category sales targets (revenue, margin, conversion)
- Optimize product listings (titles, descriptions, images, filters)
- Ensure correct pricing, offers, bundles, and discounts
- Improve customer journey, upselling, and cross-selling
4. Marketing & Growth
- Plan and execute category-specific marketing campaigns
- Coordinate with Performance Marketing, Social Media, Influencers, and CRM teams
- Define monthly promotion calendars (festive, seasonal, flash sales)
- Work on retention strategies (repeat purchase, loyalty, email & WhatsApp campaigns)
5. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Track KPIs:
- Revenue, Margin, AOV, Conversion Rate
- Inventory Turnover
- ROAS & Marketing Spend
- Analyze best-selling and underperforming products
- Share weekly and monthly performance reports with management
6. Cross-Team Coordination
- Work closely with:
- Marketing team
- Creative team (banners, creatives, product visuals)
- Operations & logistics
- Customer support
- Ensure smooth product launches and promotions
Required Skills & QualificationsMust-Have
- Strong experience in online jewelry or fashion eCommerce
- Knowledge of jewelry pricing, margins, purity, and certifications
- Hands-on experience with:
- Shopify / Magento / Marketplaces
- Google Analytics / Sales dashboards
- Strong analytical and Excel/Sheets skills
Good-to-Have
- Experience with performance marketing or category P&L ownership
- Knowledge of ERP systems (Odoo preferred)
- Understanding of influencer & social commerce
