The OPD Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients visiting the outpatient department, assisting doctors during consultations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and maintaining accurate medical records. The role requires professionalism, empathy, and adherence to clinic protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care:
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in the OPD.
  • Monitor vital signs and general health status of patients.
  • Administer prescribed medications and injections under physician supervision.
  • Assist patients with minor procedures and dressing changes.
  • Doctor Assistance:
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Assist doctors during minor surgical procedures or treatments.
  • Ensure proper sterilization of instruments and maintain aseptic techniques.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history, treatment details, and follow-up care.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow in the OPD.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans, post-procedure care, and clinic instructions.
  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Follow clinic protocols, hygiene standards, and infection control measures.
  • Ensure proper disposal of medical waste and maintain cleanliness in the OPD area.
  • Stay updated with nursing practices and participate in training sessions as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in outpatient or clinical nursing preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple patients.
  • Knowledge of basic clinical procedures, medication administration, and first aid.

Working Hours: As per clinic schedule
