Opening Shift Barista

The Role

We need an opening shift barista who can run the morning. That means being at the shop by 6 AM, getting the bar set up, making great drinks, and keeping things running until noon. This is a consistent schedule — same days, same hours, every week.


What You'll Do

  • Open the shop and set up the bar
  • Pull espresso shots, steam milk, prepare hot and cold drinks to standard
  • Serve customers at the counter and handle POS transactions
  • Keep the bar, equipment, and prep area clean and stocked
  • Prep cold brew, restock pastries, and manage basic inventory during your shift
  • Occasionally work Smorgasburg events on Fridays or Sundays


What We're Looking For

  • At least 6 months of espresso bar experience (non-negotiable — we'll train you on our menu, but you need to know your way around a machine)
  • Reliable and punctual — this is a small team and every shift matters. If we can't count on you to show up at 6 AM, this isn't the right fit.
  • Wednesday through Sunday availability required
  • Comfortable working independently during the morning shift
  • Friendly without being performative — genuine warmth.
  • Food Handler's Certificate
