Job Overview

A-Better Heat & Air Conditioning, a trusted contractor with over 40 years of industry experience, is seeking a highly organised and dynamic Operations Manager to join our team in Califon, New Jersey. We are renowned for providing expert heating, ventilation, and air conditioning solutions, from central air conditioning units to ductless mini-splits and indoor air quality systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and improving all operational processes, managing our team of skilled technicians, and ensuring the exceptional service delivery our clients have come to expect. This is a crucial role for driving efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.



 

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate all day-to-day operational activities of the business.
• Manage the scheduling and dispatch of our certified technicians to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
• Oversee inventory management, including the procurement of parts, equipment, and supplies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and quality.
• Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety regulations within the workplace and on-site.
• Supervise, train, and mentor the operational team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Manage operational budgets, monitor expenditure, and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Analyse operational performance data to generate reports and implement strategies for improvement.
• Handle complex customer enquiries and resolve any escalated issues to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors to maintain strong professional relationships.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an operations management role, preferably within the HVAC or a related trade industry.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of technical staff.
• In-depth knowledge of industry best practices and health and safety standards.
• Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and financial analysis.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office and familiar with operational management software.
• A degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
