Position Information

Examples Of Duties

• Assists the leadership team of the Human Trafficking Section with the creation of protocols, procedures, and policies for the Human Trafficking Section, ensuring that all are victim-centered and trauma-informed
• Works collaboratively with the Operation PA STRIKE Program Manager to ensure that all members of the MDT are using a victim-centered and trauma-informed approach in all victim interactions and ensuring that there is continuous evaluation and improvement in this area
• When requested, attends preplanned law enforcement operations of the Human Trafficking Section throughout the state (ex. search warrants and proactive recovery operations) and assists with any victim/survivor interactions on scene throughout the state, providing for immediate needs and facilitating a timely, warm hand off to MDT partners
• When possible, responds and assists with any unplanned interactions with victim/survivor (ex. request for assistance from local law enforcement), providing for immediate needs and facilitating a timely, warm hand off to MDT partners
• Assists members of the Human Trafficking Section with victim-centered logistical planning related to operations such as securing comfortable debrief facilities, interpretation services, and medical assistance; planning for any other emergent needs expected at the operation; and coordinating with MDT partners to assure a timely, warm hand off
• Notifies victims/survivors of all progress in law enforcement proceedings and coordinates and assists with travel arrangements to all meetings and court appearances
• Assists victims/survivors in the preparation of restitution calculations and victim impact statements as needed
• Collaborates with MDT partners to develop and maintain an evolving, comprehensive, vetted, and diverse referral list of community service providers so all survivors, regardless of victimization or cooperation with law enforcement, receive high quality services
• Assists with the development of outreach and training materials, facilitating and incorporating input from survivors whenever possible
• Participates in training and outreach with members of the Human Trafficking Section as well as MDT partners
• Ensures compliance with all confidentiality protocols by both the PA OAG and MDT partners
• Performs other work as required

Minimum Experience and Training

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Health, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field with five years of experience working directly with victims/survivors of sex or labor trafficking OR
• Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Health, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field with three years of experience working directly with victims/survivors of sex or labor trafficking OR
• Nine years of experience working directly with victims/survivors of sex or labor trafficking OR
• Any equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience that would enable the individual to perform the duties of the job

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Comfortable working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, ensuring that all interactions are culturally appropriate
• Experience with a second language preferred; bilingual strongly preferred
• Strong organizational, analytical, and written communications skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well with others
• Willing to travel frequently throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
