An Operation Theater Technician is responsible for preparing and maintaining the operation theater, assisting surgical teams, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment, and maintaining a sterile environment for surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Operative Duties:
  • Prepare the operation theater before surgery.
  • Ensure surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterilized and ready.
  • Assist in patient positioning and draping.
  • Check functionality of OT equipment like anesthesia machines, lights, and monitors.
  • Intra-Operative Duties:
  • Assist surgeons and anesthetists during procedures.
  • Pass surgical instruments and materials as required.
  • Maintain a sterile field and follow infection control protocols.
  • Handle emergency situations effectively.
  • Post-Operative Duties:
  • Dispose of medical waste following safety protocols.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and OT equipment.
  • Ensure proper documentation of used materials.
  • General Responsibilities:
  • Maintain stock of OT supplies and report shortages.
  • Follow hospital policies and safety guidelines.
  • Assist in the shifting of patients before and after surgery.
  • Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and anesthetists for smooth OT functioning.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma / Certification in OT Technology or relevant field.
  • Experience: 0–2 years (freshers can apply).
