Operation Theatre Nurse

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operation theatre before each procedure, ensuring sterilization and availability of all necessary surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assist surgeons and anesthetists during operations by anticipating their needs and maintaining aseptic techniques.
• Monitor patients’ condition before, during, and after surgery, and provide post-operative care as required.
• Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures, instruments, and consumables used.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
• Manage inventory and maintain adequate stock of OT supplies and medications.
• Participate in the orientation and training of junior nursing staff and interns.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary surgical team to ensure quality patient care and smooth OT functioning.

Qualifications and Skills:

• GNM / B.Sc Nursing / M.Sc Nursing with valid Kerala Nursing Council Registration.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an OT Nurse in a reputed hospital.
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, aseptic techniques, and infection control.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
• Willingness to work in shifts and support emergency surgeries.
