Job Title: OT Staff Nurse

Department: Operation Theatre (OT)
Reporting To: OT In-Charge / Nursing Superintendent / Surgeon
Employment Type: Full-Time / Rotational Shift Duty

Job Summary:

The OT Staff Nurse is responsible for providing safe, sterile, and efficient nursing care during surgical procedures. The role includes preparing the operation theatre, assisting surgeons and anesthetists, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining strict infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities:Pre-Operative Duties:

• Prepare the OT with required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
• Check patient identity, consent, and pre-operative investigations
• Ensure proper patient positioning and safety measures
• Maintain strict aseptic techniques

Intra-Operative Duties:

• Assist surgeons during surgical procedures as scrub or circulating nurse
• Handle surgical instruments and maintain sterile field
• Monitor patient condition during surgery
• Coordinate with anesthetist and OT team
• Manage emergency situations during surgery

Post-Operative Duties:

• Assist in transferring the patient to the recovery room
• Monitor vital signs and post-operative condition
• Maintain post-operative records
• Ensure proper cleaning and sterilization of the OT

General Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate OT documentation and records
• Follow hospital policies, safety protocols, and ethical standards
• Participate in OT audits, training, and quality improvement programs
• Ensure proper handling of biomedical waste

Qualifications & Requirements:

• DGNM / B.Sc Nursing / M.Sc Nursing
• Valid Nursing Council Registration
• OT experience preferred (Freshers with OT training can also apply)
• Knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instruments
• Ability to work in rotational shifts, including night duty and emergencies
• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Rotational shifts (Day/Night as per duty roster)
• Prolonged standing during surgeries
• Emergency on-call duties as required

Pay: ₹10,660.87 - ₹27,191.60 per month
