Operational Finance Manager

Position Overview

The operational finance manager is the cornerstone of financial and accounting functions of the organization. As a trusted business advisor, the role works closely with operations and finance leadership to ensure accurate reporting and sound financial controls. This individual plays a key part in providing timely financial information to support project execution, cost management, and overall business performance.

The position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data, assisting with budgets and forecasts, reviewing project financials, and helping improve reporting tools and processes. This individual also supports the development of team members and contributes to continuous improvement across finance and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a key finance leader by exemplifying Danny’s Construction’s core values and culture
  • Analyze, interpret, and clearly communicate financial results including revenues, costs, and margins to executives and management
  • Build trust and credibility by delivering timely, accurate, and actionable financial data that supports decision making
  • Design, implement, and enforce strong internal controls to ensure the highest level of financial data integrity
  • Develop accurate budgets and forecasts, drive accountability, and identify opportunities to improve costs across the organization
  • Establish high standards and continuously improve financial tools, reporting, and business processes
  • Review project projections and financial performance to ensure accuracy and early identification of risks and opportunities
  • Review bidding labor rates and related agreements for financial sensitivities, risk exposures, and improvement opportunities
  • Set clear development goals, provide constructive feedback, and identify growth opportunities for team members
  • Challenge, motivate, and lead team members toward shared objectives while providing direct, candid feedback

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field required
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and accounting principles
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial analysis
  • Ability to lead teams, manage monthly reporting processes, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand and communicate the broader business context
  • Deep knowledge of, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, initiative, and resourcefulness
  • Ability to access all areas of active construction sites in varied environments
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, MBA, or public accounting experience
  • Financial or accounting experience in construction or engineering industries
  • Proven experience developing, mentoring, or managing teams

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
