Our client, an alternative asset management firm in NYC, with a primary focus on investing in businesses that operate in the real assets sector with a primary focus on commodities and material-driven businesses is seeking a operations analyst to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. The successful candidate will be involved in supporting the daily operations and broader middle-and back-office functions of the firm, working alongside the Director of Finance and the investment team. This role will support key functions including trading operations, accounting, tax and compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Trade and Operations
  • Monitor and support the trade lifecycle across asset classes including equities, fixed
income, derivatives and foreign currencies.
  • Perform daily position, cash, and P&L reconciliations with fund administrators, custodians, and prime brokers
  • Investigate and resolve trade breaks, settlement discrepancies, and cash variances in a timely manner.
  • Monitor margin and collateral requirements, ensuring sufficient funding and compliance with prime broker and counterparty thresholds.
  • Assist with month-end NAV review packages and liaise with administrators on valuation and pricing issues.
  • Maintain accurate internal trade, pricing, and valuation records across systems.
  • Support operational initiatives, data integrity projects, and workflow improvements
Accounting & Tax
  • Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements in coordination with the fund administrator.
  • Support the annual audit and tax return processes by coordinating by liaising with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Track and reconcile capital activity, investor statements, and fund expenses.
  • Maintain accurate accounting and tax records, ensuring consistency with fund documentation and service provider records.
Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
  • Support data gathering and filings for regulatory reports such as Form PF, Form ADV, FATCA, and CRS.
  • Review and monitor trade allocations to ensure adherence to compliance procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field with a strong academic record.
  • 1-2 years of experience in fund administration
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative, own processes, and follow through to resolution.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and organizational skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products, particularly Excel.

The compensation for this position ranges from $60,000.00 - $85,000.00. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
