Operations Analyst

As an Operations Control Analyst, you will support the capturing and analysis of operational data to improve processes, identify gaps/risks in procedures, and help ensure the accuracy of internal and regulatory reporting. You will leverage a strong analytical skillset and technical curiosity to help develop business intelligence solutions, MIS/BI reporting, business requirement documentation, and process re-engineering materials as part of the broader Operations & Middle Office organization.

You will work closely with stakeholders across departments and regions to support project plans and day-to-day initiatives. You will also partner with the Global Operations Control team and work with internal resources and external counterparties to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with teams across Ops, IT, Legal, Compliance, and Finance (globally as needed) and with external parties to support projects, reporting, and control initiatives

  • Support automation of reporting processes through development of Excel/VBA, SQL, Python and/or Tableau dashboards (depending on skill level)

  • Produce daily/weekly/monthly metrics spanning the trade lifecycle (e.g., trade volumes, trade edits, matching, settlement, positions/balances)

  • Help build and maintain scorecards/KPIs by asset class, market, broker, trading group, legal entity, etc.

  • Perform data analysis to identify trends and recurring issues; support documentation and governance for recurring breaks

  • Support relationship management with internal partners and external counterparties; assist with offshore/vendor coordination and SLA tracking where applicable

  • Assist with consolidation of firm-wide reporting for domestic and international regulators

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 1+ year of experience in financial services, fintech, consulting, operations, analytics, or a related role (internship experience may count)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with large datasets

  • Working knowledge of Excel; exposure to SQL and/or VBA preferred (Python and Tableau/Power BI are a plus)

  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work with multiple stakeholders

  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $160,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package that includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
