This is a hybrid role sitting at the intersection of digital systems development and day-to-day logistics operations. The successful candidate will inherit partially built automation systems and take them to the next level while simultaneously running the operational logistics function that supports a large-scale exploration division.
Key Responsibilities Digital Automation & Systems Development
- Take ownership of partially built automation systems and continue their development, improvement, and expansion across the exploration division
- Design and build workflows using Power Automate and Power Apps to digitise and streamline operational processes
- Develop and maintain automation solutions for fleet management-tracking, scheduling, utilisation reporting, and maintenance coordination
- Build and improve timesheet automation systems, ensuring accuracy, auditability, and ease of use across field and office-based teams
- Write and maintain SQL queries and Python scripts to support data extraction, transformation, and reporting pipelines
- Identify additional processes suitable for automation and build the case for- and execute- their digitisation
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools that give leadership real-time visibility into operational performance
- Act as the primary bridge between the logistics operations team and IT/digital functions, translating operational needs into technical solutions
- Troubleshoot system issues, monitor performance post-deployment, and implement continuous improvements
Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate day-to-day logistics activities including fleet deployment, materials movement, vendor scheduling, and transport planning across exploration operations
- Manage relationships with third-party transport providers, freight contractors, and service vendors to ensure service level compliance
- Oversee import/export documentation, customs processes, and regulatory compliance for cross-border shipments
- Track and report on key logistics KPIs including on-time performance, fleet utilisation, and cost efficiency
- Support inventory management, ensuring materials availability aligns with operational demand
- Resolve logistics disruptions efficiently, coordinating across internal stakeholders and external providers
- Produce regular performance reports for senior leadership covering both automation progress and logistics operations
- Conduct root cause analysis on operational failures and implement corrective actions
- Benchmark logistics and automation performance against industry standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 6-10 years of experience spanning logistics coordination and digital systems or automation roles
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data handling, automation scripting, and reporting
