Operations and Maintenance Technician
Location:
Fort Benton, MT
Position Description:
The Operations and Maintenance technician will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks pertaining to operations and maintenance in the Fiber and Oilseeds processing facilities.
Work Schedule:
Weekend Shift: Friday through Sunday, 7:00am to 7:30pm
Pay:
This is a full-time, hourly position with competitive pay based on experience, qualifications and skill level.
Duties And Responsibilities

Assist with and perform routine and preventative maintenance for production equipment and mechanical systems, and mobile machinery

Assist with and perform repair of facilities structures, systems, and components, including minor building repairs including electrical systems

Troubleshoot PLC systems and assist with repairs or programming

Perform metal fabrication as needed

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals

Apply knowledge of electrical systems, including motors, 3-phase power, and sensors

Track, maintain, and schedule maintenance and production details and repairs

Maintain a working knowledge of machinery, processes, and quality standards

Understand plant operations, both for fiber and oilseeds
-
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and operational issues to minimize downtime

Follow safety procedures/policies and promote a strong safety culture

Report maintenance and operational concerns promptly

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Physical Abilities

Must have the ability to climb stairs or ladders on a regular basis

Ability to lift, carry, push and pull 50-plus pounds

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including pushing, pulling, shoveling, bending, kneeling and standing for extended periods

Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights of 15 - 35 feet

Ability to work in an industrial environment with high noise, airborne dust, and varying hot and cold temperatures

Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment, including respirators, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, and protective footwear

Ability to safely operate job-related tools and equipment
Education And Experience

High school diploma required

A minimum of 2 years of related experience
