Operations Area Manager (FCC & Alkylation)

Scope:

lead and optimize the operations of the Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) and Alkylation Units. This is a critical leadership role responsible for operational excellence, safety, reliability, and continuous improvement within a complex refinery environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of FCC and Alkylation units to ensure safe, stable, and efficient performance.
• Drive adherence to HSSE standards, process safety management (PSM), and regulatory compliance.
• Manage unit performance KPIs including throughput, yield, energy efficiency, and product quality.
• Lead, coach, and develop operations teams including shift supervisors and engineers.
• Coordinate closely with Maintenance, Planning, Technical Services, and Inspection teams to ensure asset integrity and reliability.
• Lead unit troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Support turnaround (TA) planning, execution, and post‑TA performance follow‑up.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives and best practices to enhance operational excellence.
• Support Management of Change (MOC), operating procedures, and risk assessments.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 12+ years of refinery operations experience, with strong exposure to FCC and Alkylation units .
• Proven leadership experience in area or unit operations management.
• Strong knowledge of refinery processes, safety systems, and operational excellence frameworks.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision‑making skills.
