Operations Assistant

Operations Assistant (Part-Time, Hybrid)

Position Overview

Mama’s Catering Kitchen is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Operations Assistant to support day-to-day administrative and operational needs. This is a hybrid role that combines remote administrative work with occasional local pickups and coordination support for our school lunch catering operations.

This position is ideal for someone who is organized, responsive, and enjoys supporting a growing food service business.

Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative & Client Support

  • Monitor and respond to client emails in a professional and timely manner
  • Assist with school communication and general client inquiries
  • Help maintain organized communication and follow-ups
  • Support administrative tasks as needed

Vendor Pickups & Operations Support

  • Pick up orders from vendors such as Sysco, Restaurant Depot, and local suppliers
  • Assist with tracking incoming orders and inventory coordination
  • Support basic operational needs to ensure smooth kitchen and delivery workflows
  • Assist with miscellaneous operational tasks as needed

School Lunch Coordination Support

  • Assist with coordination requirements for school lunch programs
  • Help track delivery schedules and order details
  • Support preparation for upcoming school lunch service

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
  • Basic computer skills (email, Google Docs, spreadsheets preferred)
  • Prior administrative or operations experience preferred but not required

Schedule & Hours

  • 5–15 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule
  • Some weekday daytime availability preferred
  • Occasional short-notice tasks may arise

Compensation

  • Part-time hourly position
  • Compensation based on experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
