OVERVIEW
The Operations Assistant is primarily responsible for supporting operations and the procurement of materials, components, equipment, supplies and services that meet the quality standards of the company. Assumes responsibility for planning requirements and supply chain management to ensure timely (scheduled) deliveries of goods and services within budget and/or standard costs. Rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Monitor and procure materials, components, equipment, supplies and services necessary for the day-to-day operations of the company.
· Plan, schedule, and monitor goods and services to meet the inventory and production requirements of the company employing such techniques but not limited to JIT, and Reschedules.
· Set-up suppliers and maintain finished goods and raw materials data in SAP.
· Determine material requirements from engineering, sales and production order requirements. Coordinate the efficient movement of materials through production orders and Foamtec International manufacturing.
· Evaluate cost consistently with the standard cost.
· Daily Data entry against internal and external Purchase Orders per the Receiving log and internal invoices received by email from manufacturing.
· Work with Receiving, Accounting and suppliers to reconcile discrepancies in receiving and invoicing.
· Develop, Implement and Support sourcing and supplier management initiatives.
· Negotiate pricing, delivery, lead time, etc., with suppliers and inter company.
· Conduct businesses and Foamtec Mfg. by using appropriate judgment for actions, maintaining high standard of professional work behavior.
· Exercise a working knowledge of goods, services, and sources of supply to make purchases at prices consistent with quality and quantity requirements. Ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained in all functions & responsibilities of the job as well as executed in a manner which supports Foamtec International W.C.C.’s quality standards, ISO 13485.
· Write up suggested selling prices and submit to sales for approval.
· Support customer service, sales, warehouse and accounting departments in day-to-day operations.
· Support EDI and IT activities and initiatives.
· Manage and conduct cycle counts and annual physical inventory count. Working with all Foamtec departments, including Thailand HQ and 3rd party auditors.
· Manage and distribute annul Price List.
· Compose and produce Sales Reports from SAP Queries.
· Working with International freight forwarders in management and cost of air and ocean freight.
· Perform other duties/special projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· 5+ years of material buying and planning in a distribution environment.
· Previous experience in a Medical Device Manufacturing environment is an asset
· Experience with EDI and Sap Business One (ERP System).
· Experience in supply chain management and inventory control.
· Demonstrated negotiation skills
· Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, and Project)
· Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
· Excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to communicate with technical and non-technical associates.
· Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with external partners
· Must be a highly motivated self-starter and be able to work under ambiguity.
· Must be organized and able to balance multiple priorities appropriately.
· Must be goal-focused and committed to completing tasks.
· Logical thinking with creative problem-solving ability.
· Detail-orientated, highly motivated, reliable and diligent.
REQUIREMENTS
· 4-year college degree (Bachelors) in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
· CPM Certification a plus.
· Lean Certification a plus.
· SAP, Business One experience preferred.
