Hibiscus Monkey was founded by a mother and her twin daughters, Mona, Naina, and Roshni. Mona, the mom, is a Chartered Accountant and a former corporate banker, while Naina is a Harvard MBA and a former Unilever employee, and Roshni is a dual MBA-MPP from MIT & Harvard and previously worked for the Government of India.
We are looking for an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Operations Associate to be the backbone of our supply chain, ensuring our beloved products are consistently in stock and delivered efficiently across all channels.
The Role: The Supply Chain Backbone
The Operations Associate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our product inventory, supply chain, and manufacturing process. This role is highly cross-functional, requiring close coordination with our contract manufacturer, vendors, logistics partners, and internal sales/marketing teams. Success in this role means ensuring a smooth flow of goods from raw material sourcing to final product delivery, maximizing efficiency, and minimizing stock-outs.
· Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts and demand plans in collaboration with the sales and marketing teams to predict future inventory needs for both finished goods and raw materials.
· Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels across all storage locations (warehouse, 3PL, etc.) and channels (e-commerce, D2C), ensuring optimal stock levels to meet demand while minimizing holding costs.
· Stock Reconciliation: Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations to ensure system accuracy and identify/resolve discrepancies.
Manufacturing & Vendor Management· Purchase Order (PO) Management: Create, track, and manage Purchase Orders (POs) for raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods with our contract manufacturer and other third-party vendors.
· Production Scheduling: Coordinate with the contract manufacturer to schedule production runs based on forecasts and current inventory needs, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines.
· Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers and the contract manufacturer to negotiate favorable terms, manage lead times, and resolve any supply issues promptly.
Logistics & Supply Chain· Inbound & Outbound Logistics: Manage the end-to-end movement of products, including scheduling the shipment of finished goods from the manufacturer to our fulfillment centers/warehouses.
· Channel Supply: Oversee the timely and accurate supply of products to all sales channels, including our e-commerce platform and any D2C/retail partners.
· Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field.
· Experience: 1-2 years of experience in an operations, inventory management, or supply chain role, preferably within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or D2C/e-commerce sector.
· Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Excel (for forecasting, data analysis, and reporting) and experience with inventory management or ERP systems.
· Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate business needs into operational plans.
