Description and Requirements

Role Overview

The Operations & Data Automation Intern will support the team by assisting with data analysis, process mapping, and automation initiatives. This role provides hands‑on experience improving operational efficiency by documenting manual workflows, analyzing process performance, and implementing repeatable automated solutions.

The intern will work independently on assigned tasks, with guidance and mentorship from the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Map and document current‑state operational processes and tasks, with clear identification of manual workflows and handoffs.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to reduce manual effort, eliminate rework, and improve end‑to‑end cycle time.
  • Prepare, validate, and maintain clean, well‑defined datasets to support reliable analysis and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain reusable Python scripts to enable data preparation, validation, and repeatable analytical workflows.
  • Design user‑friendly tools and scalable, repeatable processes to streamline recurring operational tasks and reduce manual dependency.
  • Develop and/or support recurring reports and dashboards that improve operational visibility and decision‑making.
  • Support the implementation, testing, and documentation of process improvements and automation solutions.
  • Evaluate and pilot limited AI‑assisted use cases under team guidance, with clearly defined success criteria.
  • Document work, processes, and outputs to enable effective knowledge sharing, continuity, and long‑term sustainability.


Requirements:

Education

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, or graduated within the past 12 months, in a quantitative or technical field.
  • Relevant majors include:
    • Business Analytics
    • MIS / Information Systems
    • Engineering
    • Computer Science
    • Data Science
    • Statistics
    • Related fields

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Demonstrated experience using Python to work with data, including cleaning, validation, transformation, or task automation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to prepare and work with clean, well‑structured datasets.
  • Ability to map and document processes, identify manual steps, and propose efficiency or automation improvements.


Work Location & Schedule

  • Based on site at Lenovo Corporate, following a 3:2 hybrid schedule (3 days in the office, 2 days flexible/remote).
  • Full‑time commitment of 40 hours per week, with flexibility in daily scheduling and accommodation for pre‑planned vacation time.


Internship Program Details

  • 8‑week summer internship program
  • Program Start Date: Monday, June 1
  • Program End Date: Friday, July 24
