Job Purpose:
As a Dispatcher, you will oversee the operational management and performance of DP Hub and delivery operations, ensuring the efficient movement of inventory within the warehouse and coordinating deliveries to couriers. Your responsibilities include assigning deliveries according to schedules and route plans, supervising riders to ensure compliance with safety best practices, and serving as the primary point of contact for both emergency and non-emergency calls. You will also be accountable for receiving and validating returns from couriers, maintaining accurate records, resolving shipment-related issues, and ensuring the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) related to delivery and pickup commitments. By addressing problems, suggesting solutions, and dispatching orders in a timely manner, you will play a critical role in maintaining smooth and efficient delivery operations.
Key Result Area:
- Coordinate and assign deliveries to couriers based on schedules, route plans, and designated zones, ensuring efficient and timely service.
- Monitor and track delivery status, proactively addressing delays, issues, or discrepancies to maintain smooth operations.
- Supervise riders and drivers to ensure strict adherence to safety best practices during handling and transportation of shipments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency and non-emergency calls, assessing situations, prioritizing requests, and providing appropriate instructions or assistance.
- Optimize schedules and routes to maximize efficiency and minimize delays, while keeping field units informed of new orders, changes, or traffic updates.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date call logs, inventory records, and shipment data using the MyDP Portal and warehouse management systems.
- Dispatch inventory to designated warehouse zones, validate returns from couriers, and inspect deliveries for accuracy and damages.
- Identify and resolve shipment-related issues promptly, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures regarding inventory handling, shipping, and returns.
- Provide regular reports and updates to upper management on performance metrics, operational efficiency, and notable incidents.
- Collaborate with customer service, logistics, and other departments to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
- Continuously review and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency, meet KPIs, and achieve service level targets.
- Uphold a clean, organized, and compliant work environment within the warehouse and dispatch areas.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training is a plus.
- Proven experience in dispatching or a similar operational role, preferably in logistics or transportation.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage high call and task volumes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in dispatching software, tracking systems, and warehouse management tools.
- Sound decision-making abilities, with capacity to assess situations and prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with geographical areas and routes to optimize delivery plans.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Flexibility in working hours, including shift work or on-call requirements.
