Job Role: Operations Head / Project Manager – Green India Project (NGO)
Position Overview
The Operations Head / Project Manager for the Green India Project will lead, manage, and scale environmental sustainability programs focused on afforestation, soil and water conservation, biodiversity restoration, climate resilience, and community-based ecological initiatives. The role ensures high-quality operations, scientific program planning, stakeholder collaboration, and measurable environmental impact across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Project Design
- Develop annual and long-term project strategies aligned with the Green India mission.
- Design scientifically informed plantation models, biodiversity restoration plans, and climate action frameworks.
- Create SOPs, technical guidelines, and field implementation tools for program consistency.
2. Operations & Field Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of plantation drives, nursery operations, water conservation structures, and eco-restoration activities.
- Lead field teams, coordinators, horticulturists, nursery managers, and community workers.
- Ensure proper species selection, planting techniques, survival monitoring, and maintenance activities.
3. Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact Assessment
- Develop a robust MEL system to track plantation survival, carbon sequestration, biodiversity enhancements, and community outcomes.
- Conduct field visits, audits, and performance reviews across all project sites.
- Prepare periodic project reports, dashboards, GIS-based mapping, and donor presentations.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with government bodies (Forest Dept, Rural Development, Panchayats), CSR foundations, research institutes, and community leaders.
- Manage donor relations: planning, execution tracking, reporting, and review meetings.
- Build partnerships with eco-clubs, schools, colleges, and volunteers to promote green practices.
5. Budgeting & Resource Allocation
- Prepare project budgets covering plantation material, manpower, resource tools, and maintenance.
- Monitor financial utilization and ensure cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Forecast resources and manage logistics for large-scale environment programs.
6. Compliance, Safety & Governance
- Ensure adherence to environmental norms, safety guidelines, and government regulations.
- Implement policies on sustainable practices, waste reduction, and ethical field operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits, CSR compliance, and government reporting.

Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Ecology, Botany, Climate Studies, Natural Resource Management, or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in environmental projects, CSR sustainability programs, or eco-restoration initiatives.
- Experience working with government departments, donors, and community-based projects.

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
