POSITION SUMMARY

The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall performance of Anderson Airmotive’s manufacturing facility, ensuring that production is efficient, quality is uncompromising, and customer commitments are met. This role provides direct leadership to the Sourcing, Quality, and Shipping teams while working in close partnership with the Production Manager to drive on-time delivery and operational excellence. The Operations Manager also oversees the Production Manager, ensuring scheduling and workflow visibility support both current demand and the company’s growth trajectory.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on operational ownership — building systems, developing people, and continuously improving the way work gets done.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Factory Operations Leadership

• Serve as the senior operational leader on-site, accountable for the day-to-day performance of the manufacturing facility.

• Establish and maintain operational standards across production, quality, sourcing, and shipping that reflect Anderson Airmotive’s commitment to reliability and craftsmanship.

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all functional areas; identify gaps and lead corrective action.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce lead times, eliminate waste, and scale capacity in support of company growth goals.

• Responsible for maintaining and directing the inventory level to support production while balancing the KPIs around days inventory on hand. Manage the inventory specialist to perform cycle counts, process in and receive purchase orders and ensure inventory accuracy.

Quality

• Direct the Quality team in upholding product specifications, inspection standards, and compliance with aerospace and military requirements.

• Champion a quality-first culture across the facility, ensuring that quality is embedded in processes — not just inspected at the end.

• Oversee corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes and drive resolution of quality escapes or customer concerns.

Shipping & Order Fulfillment

• Lead the Shipping team to ensure accurate, timely order fulfillment that meets or exceeds customer delivery expectations.

• Optimize outbound logistics processes for efficiency and accuracy, with particular attention to military and commercial customer requirements.

• As parts are manufactured, inspected and processed into stock, determine the priorities and allocate the parts to open orders for shipping. Responsible to generate the necessary pick tickets for the Shipping Department to fill.

Production Partnership & Planning Oversight

• Partner closely with the Production Manager to align production scheduling, capacity, and resource allocation with order demand and delivery commitments.

• Oversee the Production Manager’s scheduling activity, ensuring WIP visibility, on-time flow between departments, and accurate status reporting.

• Identify and flow down production requirements. Work with the Production Manager to update the planned job priorities by press / machine and generate an expected timeline for each job.

• Serve as the senior escalation point when production constraints, material shortages, or quality holds threaten delivery commitments.

People & Culture

• Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing operations team; provide coaching, performance feedback, and growth opportunities.

• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement across all operational teams.

Strategic & Cross-Functional Contribution

• Partner with the President and leadership team to inform capacity planning, capital investments, and operational strategy as the business scales.

• Provide regular reporting on operational performance, including delivery metrics, quality outcomes, and cost trends.

REQUIREMENTS / REQUESTED QUALIFICATIONS

• 7–10+ years of progressive operations or manufacturing leadership experience, with demonstrated responsibility for multiple functional areas (production, quality, sourcing, and/or logistics).

• Proven track record leading cross-functional teams in a precision or specialty manufacturing environment; aerospace, defense, or electrical connector experience strongly preferred.

• Strong command of production planning principles, supply chain fundamentals, and quality management systems (ISO, AS9100, or similar a plus).

• Analytical and data-driven; comfortable interpreting operational metrics and using them to guide decisions and drive accountability.

• Excellent cross-functional collaborator and communicator — equally effective on the shop floor and in leadership meetings.

• Experience in a growth-stage or scaling manufacturing environment is a significant plus.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
