Beehive Rental & Sales is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our front counter and yard teams.
This position is responsible for leading employees, managing schedules, ensuring tasks are completed, maintaining customer service standards, improving efficiency, and holding team members accountable. The Operations Manager will serve as the primary leader for daily operations and report directly to the Controller.
We are looking for a hands-on leader who takes ownership, solves problems, communicates effectively, and leads by example.
Leadership & Team Management
- Directly supervise front counter and yard employees
- Lead by example and maintain a positive, professional work environment
- Hold employees accountable to company policies, procedures, and performance expectations
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members
- Assist with employee onboarding and training
- Conduct regular check-ins and performance discussions
- Address performance concerns and communicate ongoing issues to management
- Foster teamwork and collaboration between departments
Scheduling & Staffing
- Create and maintain employee schedules
- Coordinate lunches, breaks, vacations, appointments, and time-off requests
- Manage staffing coverage for call-outs and absences
- Monitor attendance and punctuality
- Ensure proper staffing levels throughout the day
- Adjust schedules as business needs change
Daily Operations
- Oversee all front counter operations
- Ensure phones are answered promptly and professionally
- Ensure customers are greeted and assisted efficiently
- Monitor reservations, contracts, invoicing, collections, and office workflow
- Verify tasks are completed accurately and on time
- Ensure yard operations are organized, efficient, and customer-focused
- Monitor equipment flow, customer pickups, and returns
- Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements
Customer Service & Problem Resolution
- Set the standard for customer service throughout the company
- Assist with customer escalations and complaints
- Resolve issues professionally and efficiently
- Monitor customer feedback and identify improvement opportunities
- Ensure customer concerns are addressed and followed through to completion
Training & Development
- Train new employees on company procedures and expectations
- Ensure employees understand their responsibilities
- Reinforce company culture and customer service standards
- Identify opportunities for additional training and growth
- Cross-train employees to improve team flexibility and coverage
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce company safety standards
- Ensure yard and office areas remain clean, organized, and professional
- Conduct routine inspections of work areas
- Address safety concerns promptly
- Help maintain compliance with company policies and procedures
Meetings & Communication
- Lead weekly team meetings
- Communicate company goals, expectations, and operational updates
- Report staffing concerns, operational issues, and performance updates to the Controller
- Maintain clear communication between the front counter, yard, mechanics, and management teams
- Participate in management meetings as needed
Opening & Closing Responsibilities
- Ensure opening procedures are completed daily
- Ensure closing procedures are completed accurately
- Verify office and yard readiness each day
- Monitor cleanliness, organization, and professionalism throughout the facility
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of management or supervisory experience
- Experience managing employees and schedules
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to hold employees accountable professionally and consistently
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Customer service and conflict-resolution experience
- Computer proficiency and ability to learn company software
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Equipment rental, construction, service, or operations management experience
- Experience managing multiple departments or teams
- Experience with workflow management, dispatching, or scheduling

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
