Compensation: $75,000 – $85,000 per year (Exempt) + Performance Bonuses

About Us

Empire Logistics NY, LLC is a leading Amazon Delivery Service Partner (DSP) specializing in last-mile delivery logistics, operating out of the East Syracuse, NY Delivery Station (6834 Kirkville Road).

We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and results-driven Operations Manager who is capable and prepared on Day 1 to lead our team, oversee daily logistics, and ensure we consistently meet our safety and performance goals.

Note: Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) provide contracted delivery services and are independent employers.

The Operations Manager Role

As the Operations Manager, you will be the backbone of our Amazon DSP daily operations. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire delivery cycle, managing a team of Shift Dispatchers and Delivery Associates (drivers), and ensuring our fleet remains safe and operational. You will work directly with the DSP owner and station management to drive efficiency, safety, and team morale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations: Oversee morning loadouts, route assignments, and evening debriefs. Ensure all routes are successfully dispatched and completed on time.
  • Team Leadership: Interview, hire, onboard, and manage a team of Delivery Associates and Dispatchers. Foster a positive, safety-first culture.
  • Performance Management: Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics (safety, delivery completion, customer feedback) in real-time. Coach drivers to improve scorecard performance and handle disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Fleet Management: Coordinate maintenance, cleaning, and repairs for a fleet of delivery vans. Ensure all vehicles comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Amazon safety standards.
  • Scheduling & Payroll: Manage employee schedules to ensure proper route coverage, monitor overtime, track time-off requests, and assist with accurate payroll processing.
  • Problem Solving: Act as the primary point of contact for on-the-road emergencies, vehicle breakdowns, weather delays, or delivery escalations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 1+ year(s) of Amazon DSP operations manager/lead, or an equivalent combination of experience as both a dispatcher and hiring manager.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to build, manage, and motivate a diverse team in a high-pressure environment.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using routing software, fleet management platforms, and spreadsheet applications (Excel/Google Sheets).
  • Availability: Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays, as delivery operations run 7 days a week.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods during loadout, and occasionally run a delivery route if emergency coverage is needed.
  • Other Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
