This is where YOU fit in: Navy Exchange Lemoore is in need of a Operations Manager to answer the call; a team player who is dedicated to supporting our local Naval community, and operational successes on a day to day basis. You will perform a variety of tasks which include the oversight of a team of associates. This team is essential to keep the store operations and services functions up and running. Your work will make an impact and support how our organization serves the best customer – our Military and civilian patrons.
So, what might a “typical” day look like?
Manages operations which may include all or a substantial combination of store support functions, customer service, front end operations, back-room operations, facilities, administrative functions, personalized services, food and automotive.
Manages an operating budget to include expenses, sales and profits. Analyzes financial statements and other pertinent data to evaluate performance.
Identifies and executes operational efficiencies, with focus on improving profitability.
Coordinates store staffing requirements in accordance with NEXCOM policies and procedures with appropriate departments. Develops and maintains work schedules through the Workforce Management system, interviews and hires personnel, and monitors and controls payroll expenses.
Manages sales audit and cashier cage operation (where applicable), cash collection, and control.
Oversees the collection of accounting data, documents, and reports from operational areas and submission to appropriate office for processing as well as coordination of annual physical inventory for assigned area.
Coordinator for IT equipment/service issues and base supporting departments as appropriate (e.g. public works, federal fire department, safety, security).
Supervises assigned personnel. Staffs key vacancies, evaluates performance, takes corrective action, etc.
Receives and handles customer complaints; determines method for resolving issue. Identifies opportunities for increasing customer service and satisfaction.
Ensures the efficient operation of receiving and stock replenishment functions.
May coordinate annual physical inventory.
Responsible for facility maintenance, equipment, cleaning (where applicable), facility improvement projects and fixed assets, etc.
Ensures compliance with safety, security and fire prevention policies for all facilities in collaboration with Asset Protection/Safety department.
Functions as Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) for various vendor contractors and concessions as applicable.
Coordinates and manages store maintenance and housekeeping requirements to NEXCOM standards.
Ensures compliance with all NEXCOM policies and procedures.
Reports to the General Manager, Exchange Manager or equivalent.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, have open availability and be able to take calls after hours.

A total of four (4) years of experience as follows:
General Experience: 3 years’ experience in administrative, professional, investigative or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain a general knowledge of management practices and administrative processes; skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships; and the ability to exercise mature judgment.
OR
Substitution of Education for Experience: 1 year of academic study, above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience, up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelor's degree for 3 years of general experience.
AND
Specialized Experience: 1 year of progressively responsible experience in administrative, supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work that demonstrated the knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques. Knowledge of retail and/or services merchandising principles, procedures and combination of related activities in the areas of accounting, personnel, procurement, and distribution management and store operations.
