Operations Manager - Assembly/Fabrication

Responsibilities
- Ensure all employees follow industry standard health and safety guidelines.
- Drive associate engagement through direct communication and problem solving with associates as well as union leadership interactions.
- Ensure all products manufactured meet internal quality standards and achieve first time right goals and objectives through problem-solving coaching and accountability.
- Plan, direct and coordinate the manufacturing of products in both assembly and fabrication departments for the AMP business in compliance with company goals and objectives.
- Coordinate with peers in the AMP business, Quality, Design, Maintenance Purchasing and Scheduling to ensure customer deliveries schedules can be attained.
- Utilize Lean principles and systemic problem-solving methodologies to develop, lead and implement continuous improvement plans.
- Plan, implement and control annual budgets.
Job Skills
- Experience in leading manufacturing organizations
- Skilled in leading manufacturing processes (fabrication, welding, painting, assembly)
- Knowledge in lean manufacturing methodology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills addressing different levels (shop floor up to Executive Management)
- Ability to learn and keep up with product knowledge.
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized.
- Set ambitious production goals and communicate them to align and engage all teams.
- Provide motivation, support and guidance to all employees.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing environments, preferably large and configurable product assembly, fabrication and painting.
- 4+ years experience in a leadership capacity is preferred
