Position Overview
We are a growing government contracting company specializing in IT, cloud, and systems engineering services. We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day business operations of the company.
This role is responsible for executing, not just overseeing, core business functions including payroll, invoicing, HR administration, and contract-related operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesGovernment Contract Operations
- Support operational processes tied to federal IT contracts and subcontracts
- Manage invoice preparation and submission
- Maintain contract documentation and compliance tracking
Payroll & Financial Operations
- Process payroll and timecard tracking
- Manage customer invoicing and subcontractor payments
- Track expenses and financial records
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial operations
Talent Acquisition & Recruiting (Core Function)
- Draft and post job requisitions aligned with business needs
- Screen resumes and conduct initial candidate interviews
- Coordinate interview scheduling with leadership
- Manage candidate communications throughout the hiring process
- Support offer coordination and pre-employment steps
- Execute and manage the full onboarding process (documentation, systems access, new hire setup)
HR & Administrative Operations
- Manage onboarding and employee documentation
- Coordinate benefits administration
- Support recruiting coordination and interview scheduling
- Serve as primary point of contact for employee administrative needs
Operations & Process Management
- Develop and maintain SOPs and internal processes
- Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements
- Support scaling operations as the company grows
Executive Support
- Support leadership (CEO, COO, CTO) with:
- Operational coordination
- Reporting
- Internal communication
Required Qualifications (Must-Have)
- 5+ years experience in operations, HR, or business administration
- Direct experience working for a government contractor (required)
- Experience supporting IT services, cloud, or technical environments
- Hands-on experience with:
- Payroll processing
- Invoicing and financial tracking
- Strong organizational and process management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- ACTIVE DOW TS SECURITY CLEARANCE
- Experience in a small to mid-sized government contractor
- Familiarity with:
- Federal contract invoicing
- Timekeeping systems
- Compliance documentation
Work Location Requirement
- Must be located in or near Northern Virginia
- Occasional on-site visits
30 hours a week, flex schedule
Pay: $69,000.00 - $70,200.00 per year
