Our client Nzee Foods and Beverages is looking for a Operations Manager - Production & Supply Chain in Islamabad

The Operations Manager at Nzee Foods and Beverages plays a critical role in overseeing daily production and operational activities within the company's facilities. This position focuses on managing production processes including reverse osmosis plants, bottling, and packaging lines to meet defined production targets efficiently and with high quality standards. The manager ensures that machinery operates at optimal efficiency and coordinates timely maintenance to minimize downtime. Maintaining compliance with all relevant food safety, quality, and hygiene regulations in accordance with Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) guidelines is also a significant part of this role. Additionally, this role involves implementing robust quality control measures at various production stages and leading audit preparations to uphold company standards.

The role extends to managing the supply chain and inventory, including raw materials, chemicals, and other inputs essential to production. The Operations Manager collaborates closely with procurement and suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or excess stock. Leading a team of five staff members encompassing machine operators, helpers, and drivers, the manager provides direction, training, and performance monitoring to enhance operational productivity and ensure safety compliance. This leadership responsibility is pivotal for fostering discipline, improving efficiency, and maintaining a highly functional workforce. Moreover, the Operations Manager oversees logistics and distribution, ensuring timely delivery of products, managing delivery vehicles, and coordinating with the sales team to align supply with demand. Cost control and continuous improvement of operational efficiency are integral components of this role, requiring a strategic and hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily production operations, including RO plant, bottling, and packaging lines, to ensure production targets for liters per day and bottles per hour are consistently met.
• Maintain optimal machine performance and ensure efficient uptime by coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities promptly.
• Implement and monitor quality assurance protocols at critical stages including raw water intake, filtration processes, and final product evaluation to uphold food safety and PSQCA standards.
• Lead and coordinate all compliance efforts including internal and external audits, inspections, and adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Manage supply chain activities by overseeing raw materials, chemicals, and consumables inventory to optimize stock levels, minimize shortages, and prevent overstock situations.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure timely material availability and cost-effective sourcing.
• Supervise and lead a team of five employees comprising machine operators, helpers, and delivery drivers; assign tasks, monitor work quality and productivity, and provide coaching on standard operating procedures and safety policies.
• Develop training programs and initiatives to enhance staff skills in operational processes, safety standards, and quality procedures, maintaining a disciplined and motivated workforce.
• Coordinate logistics and distribution activities, ensuring on-time delivery of products by managing routes and delivery vehicle maintenance.
• Collaborate with the sales team to forecast demand and adjust production and delivery schedules accordingly to meet market needs.
• Implement cost control measures aimed at reducing operational expenses while improving efficiency and productivity.
• Continuously identify and drive process improvements across production, supply chain, and distribution functions to enhance overall operational effectiveness.
